Confusing to many new, and sometimes experienced, photographers are the multitude of categories in photo contests. We sit and scratch our heads trying to understand the meaning of “Fine Art Landscapes” versus “Nature Landscapes.” Apparently, an all-in-compassing guide to categories does not exist. However, a little internet research can help photographers pick the correct entry category. The LensCulture black and white awards are back. A call for entries has gone out with a deadline of October 21, 2020. Show the world the beauty of black and white. Color is distracting while black and white focus the viewer with subtle tones. It shapes moods and could remind the viewer of film noir.
